The simplest answer is that the forex is open for trading all the time, but that the specific hours it opens and closes at any given location depending upon where you are in the world. The base reference time for all opening and closing times worldwide is Greenwich Mean Time, commonly abbreviated GMT. Many websites devoted to clarifying forex business hours describe the opening and closing times with three or four significant examples, usually

Trading forex (currencies) in international markets is popular among residents in Canada. Before any fx broker in Canada can accept forex and CFD traders as clients, they must become authorised by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), which is the financial regulatory body in Canada. IIROC's website is iiroc.ca. We recommend Canadian residents follow IIROC on Twitter, @IIROCinfo and @FINTRAC_Canada.

Forex trading is an exciting business. There is so much hype surrounding it online, but how exactly can the average person get started with trading forex? The first thing that you'll need to do is decide on a broker. This can be accomplished by playing with different forex demo accounts by various brokers. You can find a list of forex brokers here. Once you've decided on a broker, you'll go through a standard sign-up process that is similar to opening a bank account.

One prominently highlighted feature of the EquityFeed Workstation is a stock hunting tool called "FilterBuilder"— built upon a huge number of filtering criteria that enable traders to scan and select stocks per their desired parameter; advocates claim it's some of the best stock screening software around. Level 2 market data is also available, and coverage includes OTC and PinkSheet markets. However, it offers limited technical indicators and no backtesting or automated trading. Its product-specific search tools like ETFView, SectorView, etc. rank among the best stock screening software. And it even offers free trading platforms – during the two-week trial period, that is.
In addition to the 12x execution speeds mentioned earlier a further 10x reduction in latency has been achieved through fibre optical connections to interbank servers in New York City. The company also introduced one-click foreign exchange trading not too long ago. This is an incredible feature to have in today’s volatile currency markets where every single second count; making or breaking a trade.
Demo accounts are also popular means for traders who are experienced trading in stocks but want to experiment with other asset classes. For instance, investors may want to open a demo account before they start investing in futures, commodities, or currencies, even if they already have much experience investing in stocks. That’s because these markets are subject to different influences, allow different kinds of market orders, and feature different kinds of margin requirements than stock markets.

In 2017, Investopedia launched its Become a Day Trader course, which covers everything from creating an overall trading plan to the nuts-and-bolts instructions for making trades. After watching a three-hour on-demand video, and practicing making mock trades, an instructor will walk you through a step-by-step playbook for making six types of trades that you can immediately put into practice.

In trading the one thing I lacked was an accessible mentor who could guide me in trading. Problem solved at PFA. Not only do you learn how to understand true price action on a chart as it applies to Supply / Demand trading, but you have access to probably the best mentor in the business in PFA’s live trading room. Had I started at PFA, I would have saved a lot of time, frustration and money. This program and its founder are simply the best and are worthy of the highest commendation. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

The explanation isn't complicated, but at first, it may seem a little strange and requires a two-part explanation. First, remember that if it's midnight in New York when the New York forex market is closed, it's also the middle of the trading day somewhere -- in Tokyo, for instance. Also, keep in mind that forex is a worldwide market that is entirely virtual. There's no trading pit anywhere. When you enter a midnight forex trade on your laptop in New York, the trade is executed in Tokyo or in another of the several trading centers worldwide that are open when you initiate the trade.
Demo accounts are very normal accounts except that they cannot be used as real accounts. For example, using a demo account for an online game you can win multiple games or even lose multiple games. Either of the results will not impact the cash account or the card associated online with that game as it is just provisioned for the users to understand how to use and just for practice
Who runs the firm? Management expertise is a key factor, because a trader’s end-user experience is dictated from the top and will be reflected in the firm’s dealing practices, execution quality, and so on. Review staff bios to evaluate the level of management and trading experience at the firm. If the brokerage doesn’t tell you who is running the show, it may be for a reason.
The image below on the left is an ascending triangle, each down cycle is a consolidation and retracement. Buyers keep coming in until the top resistance is broken. Eventually the pair breaks out to the upside, in the context of an overall uptrend on the higher time frames. This can occur on small or large time frames. Ascending triangles occur frequently in a trending market and signal a trend continuation to the upside. Overall trend direction on the higher time frames is up. Breakout point and price alert point is just above the resistance.

More sophisticated charting software generally offers some support for traders using Elliot Wave Theory to analyze exchange rate movements that would include calculating Fibonacci retracement and projection levels. Additional advanced forex charting software features might include: more advanced line-drawing options that include channels and Gann lines, computing and displaying Pivot Points, as well as providing a wider range of increasingly-complex technical indicators.
Starting from the basics depending on which forex company you decide to trade with you should understand that account type offerings vary as some forex companies offer a range of accounts addressing all major trading audiences in terms of budget where other forex companies address traders with generally larger starting budgets. Usual account types at the majority of forex companies range from Micro and go all the way to Executive which realistically vary in terms of service and offerings.
Technical analysis involves the analysis of price charts and is based on the assumption that history tends to repeat itself. In other words, a certain price pattern that worked great in the past should work equally good in the future. While technical analysis is not a perfect science, it has a proven track record and there are many Forex traders out there that trade solely based on technical analysis. Unlike fundamental analysis, technical analysis provides exact entry and exit points for a trade.
Much of the software is complimentary; some of it may cost extra, as part of a premium package; a lot of it, invariably, claims that it contains "the best stock charts" or "the best free trading platform." Fact: There is no single best stock chart or best stock screener software. There are too many markets, trading strategies, and personal preferences for that. But we can examine some of the most widely-used trading software out there and compare their features. Whether their utility justifies their price points is your call.
Support – “support” is a term used to describe heavy levels of upwards pressure in terms of an asset that is said to be able to keep said asset stable. In trading, traditionally if say for example Bitcoin has very large support at a certain price level, it may be a bit harder for the price to decrease past that level since there are so many buy orders at that price.

I'm a family guy in my late 20's who learned how to trade the markets in a simple yet effective way. During university I studied investing and graduated with a master's degree in risk management. Quickly, I realized that I was onto something. I started helping friends and taking students. My students started getting results, spent less time in front of their screens, and their accounts grew consistently. Learn more about me here.
I got involved with Pure Financial Academy to learn to simplify my Futures trading and soon found it works with FOREX, Options, and Equities trading as well!
