Most traders spend years of effort with nothing to show for it at the end. If you’ve gone through this, not only is it frustrating, but the people closest to you lose faith in you and worst of all it makes you lose faith in yourself. By learning proven trading methods directly from the professionals themselves, you avoid years of needless struggle, confusion, and wrong paths that only end up depleting your account and taking your dream away from you.
As the 20th century drew to a close, independent financial firms (not banks) started to introduce online forex trading platforms for end users. Currenex, launched in 1999, ended the chore of obtaining competitive exchange rate quotes by telephoning individual banks: instead, customers could send a “request-for-quote” to many forex dealers simultaneously. The dealers were required to respond within a few seconds, and end-customers would then trade with the dealer of their choice.6
Leveraged trading in foreign currency contracts or other off-exchange products on margin carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for everyone. We advise you to carefully consider whether trading is appropriate for you in light of your personal circumstances. You may lose more than you invest. Information on this website is general in nature. We recommend that you seek independent financial advice and ensure you fully understand the risks involved before trading. Trading through an online platform carries additional risks. Refer to our legal section.
Execute orders on your broker's platform by pitting one currency against another. For example, if you are confident the U.S. dollar will increase in value against the Canadian dollar based on recent financial events, you could buy the USD/CAD pair. These are the symbols associated with those currencies. Buying the pair means that you expect the value of the first currency listed to rise relative to the second. If it does, you make money. If not, you risk losses. Selling or shorting the pair means you expect the U.S. dollar to lose value against the Canadian dollar.
Furthermore, execution policies vary across firms in terms of how orders are processed (slippage/rejections), even when all else is equal. Brokers may be acting as market makers (dealers) to execute your trades or acting as agents for execution (relying on other dealers to do so for them). Forex spreads may include a round-turn commission. Also, not all brokers publish their average spread data, and for those who do – not all brokers record their average spread over the same time-frames, making it difficult to make an accurate comparison.

The foremost advantage of choosing a Forex broker from Canada is the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF), which guarantees traders up to $1 million in case a broker goes into bankruptcy or if the parent company is liquidated for some reason. $1 million is a lot of money, especially when comparing it to the FCA of the UK that provides only up to £50,000 in compensation in the event a broker files for insolvency. Therefore, Canadian brokers offer more leeway and protection for traders who have a significant sum invested in the Forex markets, which is highly suitable for traders that hold funds that are more than a million dollars with their brokers.
Minimize costs. Brokerage fees can undermine your returns. This is especially true if you participate in day trading. Day traders quickly buy and sell stocks throughout the day. They hold the stocks for less than one day, sometimes for only seconds or minutes, looking for opportunities to make quick profits. Day trading or any strategy in which you are frequently buying and selling your securities can get expensive. For every transaction, you may be charged transaction fees, investment fees and trading activity fees. These fees add up quickly and can significantly cut into your losses.[24][25][26][27]

The "cloud" bounce is a common continuation pattern, yet since the cloud's support/resistance is much more dynamic that traditional horizontal support/resistance lines, it provides entries and stops not commonly seen. By using the Ichimoku cloud in trending environments, a trader is often able to capture much of the trend. In an upward or downward trend, such as can be seen in Figure 4, there are several possibilities for multiple entries (pyramid trading) or trailing stop levels.

Using the example above, the spread of 0.0004 British Pound (GBP) doesn't sound like much, but as a trade gets larger, even a small spread quickly adds up. Currency trades in forex typically involve larger amounts of money. As a retail trader, you may be trading only one 10,000-unit lot of GBP/USD. But the average trade is much larger, around one million units of GBP/USD. The 0.0004 spread in this larger trade is 400 GBP, which is a much more significant commission.
Starting from the basics depending on which forex company you decide to trade with you should understand that account type offerings vary as some forex companies offer a range of accounts addressing all major trading audiences in terms of budget where other forex companies address traders with generally larger starting budgets. Usual account types at the majority of forex companies range from Micro and go all the way to Executive which realistically vary in terms of service and offerings.
Broker & platform – Finally, online trading with demo accounts is an effective way to test a potential broker and platform. For example, you can check their software has all the charts and tools you need. In addition, do they offer any useful extras, such as trading contests? So, check the overall quality of the broker’s services before you commit real capital.
Risk Disclosure: Trading in financial instruments and/or cryptocurrencies involves high risks including the risk of losing some, or all, of your investment amount, and may not be suitable for all investors. Prices of cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile and may be affected by external factors such as financial, regulatory or political events. Trading on margin increases the financial risks.
Hello Esther. That is definitely a difficult question to answer. The thing is that profits depend on a variety of factors. First of all, they depend on how much you invest. The more money you invest the larger are the potential returns but also the bigger are the risks of losing funds. It also depends on how much you diversify, investing all of your money in one cryptocurrency is never a good idea because if that investment goes wrong, you will lose all of your funds, whereas if you invest in several assets, you might lose a couple of them and win the rest. What I can tell you for certain though, is that some people became millionaires trading bitcoin so there actually is no limit to how much you can make. I hope that helps.

The simple answer is no. Almost any Australian forex broker have the ability to access any currency market when open and trade multiple currencies across a trading day. Just because for example the an Asian market like Japanese is only open, doesn’t mean you couldn’t trade currency pairings such as AUD/USD to EUR/USD. An interesting fact is that the AUD/USD is actually traded the most when the Australian market is closed highlighting that opportunities exist for currency traders all the time. It is possible that volumes for these currency pairings will be lower during different periods of the day but with currency markets volume being multiples of worldwide share-markets there is always an opportunity to trade.

Gold attracts numerous crowds with diverse and often opposing interests. Gold bugs stand at the top of the heap, collecting physical bullion and allocating an outsized portion of family assets to gold equities, options, and futures. These are long-term players, rarely dissuaded by downtrends, who eventually shake out less ideological players. In addition, retail participants comprise nearly the entire population of gold bugs, with few funds devoted entirely to the long side of the precious metal.
The second reveals that the intraday trader often uses more than one time frame – such as a one-minute, three-minute, five-minute, 10-minute and 30-minute chart – in making trading decisions. The end-of-day trader may also use 60- and 90-minute time frames as well as daily and weekly data. By the time either of these types of traders have drawn Fibonacci levels for each pivot point in each time frame, both often have a real mess on their hands. (For more, see: How to Draw Fibonacci Levels.)
For example, setting up an LLC protects you from personal liability. If anything goes wrong in the business, it is only the money that you invested into the limited liability company that will be at risk. It is not so for sole proprietorships and general partnerships. Limited liability companies are simpler and more flexible to operate and you don’t need board of directors, shareholders meetings and other managerial formalities.
